About a year ago, I was put on to one of my favorite New York artists. A guy who’s dynamic and aggressive flow have taken the New York rap scene by storm. The name of this artist is Rah Swish. The Brooklyn native began to stand out after dropping singles such as “Debo” and “Back up.” Back in 2019, he released his statement album “Look What They Started” which immediately put him on the map. Swish is one of the main guys leading the newfound drill rap wave and continuing the legacy of his late friend, Pop Smoke.
Today, he continues to shine with the release of his latest project “Woo Forever.” In this album, Rah honors his close friend with tracks such as “Feel Like Pop” and “Woo Forever.” It even begins with an intro conversation between him and Pop Smoke where Pop hints at another track with Rah Swish. The album is full of hard hitting anthems backed by powerful beat patterns and is definitely worth a listen. The loss of Pop Smoke was tragic but Swish beautifully pays tribute to him in his latest album.
