Many of you came to defend your “King” in one of my previous posts, as I had a HOT TAKE ALERT stating that I thought Drake’s dominant prime had come to an end. Well, one thing that certainly has not come to an end is the beef between Pusha T and the “King” himself.
After the entertaining back-and-forth diss songs blew up the hip-hop world, it seems Pusha T still has something to say. On an “unreleased”, but leaked, song off of the posthumous Pop Smoke Album, Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon, Pusha T appears to take a few shots at Drake. Pusha T immediately starts his verse off by saying, “You know reality bites, it’s chess, not checkers / Those empty threats only sound good on your records / If the patois is not followed by a Blocka / It’s like Marked for Death Screwface, without the choppa”. Drake is known for not shying away from conflict on his songs, as he has had rap beef with Pusha T and Meek Mill.
This song was kept off the album; may be due to the fact that Pusha took the opportunity to use his feature on Pop Smoke’s presumably last album to continue his beef with one of music’s top artist. Young Thug, who also featured on the song, reportedly came out speaking against the rap beef, “I don’t respect the Pusha T verse… I don’t have nun to do with y’all beef and neither does Gunna, and if I knew it was about him I would’ve made changes on our behalf.” The verse obviously sparked controversy and Thug even went as far as to say the diss was “7 days” or a week, more so WEAK!
Go check out the song and see for yourself! On a different note, the song is pretty fire. I wish they kept it on the album.
How do you feel about the beef? Is Drake undefeated when it comes to defending his status? Was Pusha T out of line, or is he coming for the throne? Let us know how you feel!
